Hello fellow Spark People!
I have finally completed the Jillian Michaels 30-Day Slim down and feel that this accomplishment is worthy of making my first (and possible only) blog post. You may be interested in knowing what I mean by "Plus 1". I added an extra day to the slim down to make up for one day of "phoning it in," but more about that later while I get to the good stuff...the results!

For a little background, I started my weight loss journey on Dec 28 at 148.5 lbs when I bought a scale, some weights and Jillian Michaels 30-Day Shred. Most of my total weight loss was achieved in January (through shredding) before I joined spark people in February. The 30-day slim down is part of the final push to my end goal of 135 lbs.
I am pretty pleased with the results; especially considering how close I am to my goal weight and how much muscle I put on during the slim down. My biceps actually INCREASED in size part way through the slim down due to increased muscle, but have since shrunk a bit from losing arm flab.
So, after all this working out with Jillian I feel that I am in a position to offer some advice to others and maybe even gripe a bit! So here goes:
What helped me a lot was creating a calendar and entering the workout for each day. I pasted it to my wall and checked off the days. This helped me to stick to the program exactly.
My biggest mistake was not timing the program with my cycle. I had one big "off" day on what was a critical workout (BFBM +QTZ) at the end of the program. I got through most of the workout, but had to "phone it in" and really felt bad having to cheat on the program because of AF. I made up for it by adding an extra BFBM workout on day 31 (the Plus 1 day). My advice to the ladies is to make sure that you will not be contending with AF during the last week of the slim down. To do it over I would start the program on cycle day one because the first week is the easiest.
My last bit of advice (maybe a gripe!) is in how to tolerate Jillian`s "girls", especially Kristen, who smiles like an idiot throughout the workouts. I coped by imagining I was punching out all those teeth she was showing during the punching sequences. It helped a bit.
Keep sparking everyone!
