Aren't these guys handsome? I see them everyday. They live right down the road from my Cardinal Fitness and I love to stop and 'talk' to them. They really get riled showing their feathers and all. I mustn't be saying the right stuff. They 'free range' along with several ducks, roosters, and chickens. There is a massive Clydesdale at the back of the property along with several other horses, sheep, goats and llama's. One of these day's I'm going to walk up and knock on the owner's door and thank them for the pleasure they and their animals give me everyday.
Well, folks, it's the last day of March and I'm waving
goodbye with love. See you next year. For me this is the official end of winter and I am so looking forward to working in my gardens and walking my trails everyday now that the warmer (fingers-crossed) weather is coming in.
I know that I wrote last week about my year anniversary of quitting smoking coming up at the end of April but I didn't realize that I had a just-as-important anniversary coming up even sooner. My 3rd year anniversary of joining SpartPeople... April 8th.
Now some people may say that I really didn't get any weight loss 'steam up' until January 18th of this year and, in a way, that is true. BUT ..... I did become a Sparky in 2008 and I've had 3 very long years struggling with personal issues that have brought me right back to SparkPPL and my weight issues this year.
asked me how I was going to celebrate my first year free from smoking and I really hadn't thought much about it. I'm just so proud to still be smoke-free. It was the hardest thing I have ever done .... and I've been successful. Thanks to all who congratulated me.
So now I'm thinking of celebrations because I have 2 of them coming to me. I am not ashamed to say that I deserve them because I do. I know that I couldn't have lost the weight that I have lost up to this point without coming here to SparkPPL everyday.
Anybody have any ideas for celebrating?
** I don't want to go out and eat - it's always so counter-productive.
** I don't want to buy any new clothes yet - now that the weight is coming off I would be going through clothes sizes just too fast to buy new ones.
** I thought that I might want to buy a exercise DVD from Bob Harper (Biggest Loser). He really encourages me to work harder every week and I love his Zen attitude - so soothing.
** I might just buy that pedometer that I've been wanting for so long. I was going to wait for Mother's Day to ask for it. I really like that idea.
Whatever I do it will be memorable because these 2 things have been major turning points in my life and I am thankful.
