Water Aerobics!

AWESOME! I started doing aerobics in the pool this week. What a difference in exercise! When I walk in the water (not ON the water, LOL) I work a lot of muscles without a huge impact on my knees. I can feel the difference in all of my muscles. Treading water is quite a workout too! This week is warm, but there are supposed to be showers everyday... guess I'll have to dodge the storms. I'm determined to get at least 15 minutes in each day. My younger sister joined me yesterday. Hopefully, she will continue to workout with me. That would be great! Then, I have one more sister who REALLY needs to get in there with us, but she isn't convinced enough... YET. For now, my focus has to be on getting myself on track.

    I'm so glad I read your blog. I love the water, but wasn't sure if water aerobics would actually help me with weight loss. Now, I plan to sign up for a class at the local rec center before the week is up!

    I appreciate all the comments. I am very fortunate to have a mother nearby who has a beautiful pool that is heated. The heat is quite costly, but I consider that my "gym dues" since it's makes no sense to join a gym when I need a knee replacement in one knee and have a broken kneecap in the other knee. The water makes exercise possible.

    Awesome job! I've never done water aerobics, but everyone I talk to says it's a fantastic workout. I'm trying to work up the nerve to use our community pool in our subdivision. I'm skeered! emoticon

    I love my water aerobics class. I go two mornings a week and my waist has gone in some and my pants are loose. I have lost only 4 pounds but the inches are also important. My knee and back pains have ceased. I am so amazed what the water can do for the body. A lady in my class lost 62 pounds with water aerobics. She did not diet, she just ate smaller portions of food. She looks so good. She is very thin and thinks she is still fat. I informed her she was not. Another lady lost 42 pounds. I know if they can do, I can do. This is the only exercise I get up look forward to going to. I LOVE IT and I do not know how to swim. Keep up the good work and I hope your sisters stick with you.

  Sounds wonderful. Can't wait to open my pool, it's so much easier on the knee's to exercise in the water.

    Sounds like a lot of fun! and a good workout. Have you seen the blogs by DAWNWATERWOMAN - she is a wonderful inspiration for pool exercise.

I've been thinking about getting an aboveground pool but am afraid it would never get warm enough unless I bought a gas water heater for it and that could be pricey. It's on my "I win a million list" - LOL emoticon
