I must say that being on these challenges has really worked for me as far as exercise is concerned. I used to be content with 30 to 60 minutes of daily exercise. Now I really strive for 90 - 120 most days of the week. And my weight is finally getting back down to pre-broken foot days. That is all I ask.
You know what is funny. I don't usually ask for help for me in prayers, but one day (or more) I did ask for Divine help with this weight thing. And prayer was answered in a way that I did not even recognize for some time.
The Sunday after Ash Wednesday our minister asked us to either fast for one meal a day or deny ourselves something during Lent. I knew if I fasted for one meal I would overeat at the next meal, so decided to give up desserts. I like a little piece of baked goods or my dark chocolate, but I eliminated all such things. Really hasn't been hard at all.
After a week or so I realized this was an answer to prayer and the self denial has been easy.
God hears and He answers prayer.
