Getting on the long term wagon

Sunday, March 27, 2011

This week I was at the grocery store and saw Dr. Oz on the cover of "Good Housekeeping". First of all, I am not one to buy a magazine while in the check out line at the grocery store, but it had Dr. Oz on the cover boasting, "Lose 10 lbs (and 2 inches) in 4 Weeks". I respect a lot of the diet advice he gives. With out thinking about it, I put the magazine in my cart.

I see this impulse buy as my mind getting back on the healthy lifestyle wagon I have been trying to pull for the last two years. I have to keep reminding myself, "slow and steady wins the race." I need to make gradual lifestyle changes for it to stick. I need to keep reading up on health and fitness.

My long term plan is to implement a small goal each week that will result in a healthy lifestyle habit.

This week my goals are:
I will track my food daily. At the end of the week I will review what I have eaten over the course of the week and see what I can learn from it.
I will drink 64 oz of water a day. I will track my water consumption daily. Each day I will build on the day before.
I will exercise 3 times this week.
