Today is Swim Day

Today I am getting ready to swim with a great friend. I am so blessed to be able to swim laps, and it feels so good when we are done. I have herniated discs in by lumbar vertebra and this helps wonderfully for the pain and numbness I suffer with in my hands. I hope others will take this advice it will keep you off of the pain meds. I have been using this therapy for over 5 years. emoticon emoticon emoticon

    I must have been led to your blog today. I just joined a fitness center and want to include swimming in my exercise routine. My doctor has been recommending it for me due to some lower back and hip issues. May I ask you how many laps did you start with? And, how often per week do you swim? Is there any style you find most beneficial (freestyle, butterfly, breast stroke)? Any advice you have will be appreciated!

    I too having leg problems swimming laps and running in the pool have taken a lot of the pain out of exercising. I have found that I feel better and do not suffer from the pain. I even do push ups on the side of the pool with my body in the water. great foe the arms.
