Gooooooooooood Morning SP Members! Thank You all for your wonderful responses and SP Goodies!
Today's hymn was a special request by one of our SP members. The words were created by Fanny J. Crosby in 1869, and the music by William H, Doane, also in 1869. The scripture that inspired Fanny to create this hymn came from John 19:25-26, "Now there stood by the cross his mother....". The title of the hymn: JESUS KEEP ME NEAR THE CROSS.
1. Jesus keep me near the cross, There a prescious fountain,
Free to all, a healing stream, Flows from Calvary's mountain. (REFRAIN).
2. Near the cross a trembling soul, Love and mercy found me,
There the Bright and Morning Star, Shed its beams around me. (REFRAIN).
3. Near the cross! O Lamb of God, Bring its scenes before me,
Help me walk from day to day With its shadows o'er me. (REFRAIN).
In the cross, in the cross, Be my glory ever,
Till my raptured soul shall find, Rest beyond the river.
May God Bless Each and Everyone of you with a Blissful weekend.
In His Love, Vic.
