I am overweight and I know it. When I jog, my stomach moves with me - not a good thing! So when I set out to do the 100 day Burpee challenge, I wasn't sure how my body would take it. Not to mention the mental toll. If you don't know what a burpee is, it's an evil little exercise that combines squats, mountain climbers, pushups and jumps into one.
Here's the link to the article that has the rules as well as another link to see these things in action.
On days 25, 50, 75 and 100 we have to time ourselves. Well, my husband created a page on facebook so that those who decided to do this challenge with us all post our times as well as update our status each time we complete a day.
I am by far the most, lets say 'physically challenged' out of everybody:) So when everybody was posting times of doing 50 in 2:50 to 3:30 range, I thought for sure that I was going to be double their time and set a goal for under 7 minutes.
I did them today and got a time of 3:50! Which goes to show that I have no idea what my body is capable of, nor how far my stubborness will get me when it kicks in. Personally. I just didn't want to embarrass myself:)
I use to be the fit one. The one to beat. After years of letting myself go, I decided that I was done with that little experiment on myself and get back into great shape again. I don't want to look like I did in my 20s, I like my curves. But I want healthy curves, not ones that will kill me:)
Right now I am on a high. The exercise high that so many people talk about but you may wonder if it really exists. It does.
And it's fantastic!!!!!!!!!
