March 23: Tuck Your Tail and Run!

Wednesday, March 23, 2011

So Wednesday is a Run Day and this week I'm also working the book fair. So I dressed out for my run before I left for the school. Got the kids squared away and then hit the trail!

I had to figure out how to make my program work, that took about a half a mile, so all my run isn't on the tracker.

I warmed up, did my stretches and started walking, ran when it said to run. I could see my shadow while I was running, so I paid close attention to my form, to what I was doing, how I was feeling.

I kept saying, chin level with the ground, shoulders down and back, hips over the knees, tuck your tail and run.

I can tell the difference in doing this. I did not have even ONE twinge in my ITBand or knees. RAWK!!

The stats are as follows:

I ran C25K program W4D1
Minutes: About 28-30 I had a few technical difficulties at first - user error
Miles: 2.30
AP: 13.24
Shoes: Asics 2150 Bungee Laces - too tight, my feet were numb towards the end

Second part after the C25K program was complete:

Minutes: 15.35
MIles: 1.16 (ran the mile in just under 12mm) .16 walking to my car
AP: 13.24
Shoes: Asics 2150 Bungee Laces - by this time I could really feel that my laces were too tight. I'm still adjusting these to see what is the best way to lace them. But overall I LOVE them, my feet don't slip one bit!!

I had cream of wheat with vanilla protein for breakfast (after my run). Next I need to make pumpkin bread for the teachers, me some lunch and head up to the school.
