WOW....it's been over a month since I blogged, but here I am!!
First of all I gained 1/4# the first week of maintenance and 1 1/2# the second and thought I was going to spiral out of control, but I DID NOT! I caught myself and gave myself a pep talk....OUT LOUD, and talk included God, who I truly lean on for support. In TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly), when you are at goal you can gain up to 3# or lose up to 7#, so that is what I am working on to be below goal, but I feel sooooooooo much better than when I was lugging that extra 23# (37 in all since I joined in 08). Yesterday a few of my Red Hat friends noticed and it felt so good, and I love trying on clothes that were in my closet that I have not been able to fit, and now are almost too big!!!
My big reward, prize, gift, whatever for getting rid of that weight was an inversion table that I bought on 2/20. This was on sale for President's day....regular price was $200.00, and for 2 days it was on sale for $99.00. Thank God I drove up there Sunday afternoon before our big 10" storm came later in the day! Anyway, if you are interested in knowing about the model and maybe checking it out yourself. Here is the information: The brand is Elite Fitness Deluxe Inversion Table, MOdel IT 9300. It is for someone weighing up to 250#. If you are not sure what they look like, kind of picture in your mind a teeter totter from when you were a kid, BUT it has nice soft but firm tubular rolls that your ankles are set right up against and there are 3 ways you can lean back, and it has bars to help you get down and back up! I am at this point on the 2nd notch and WOW, what a stretch I feel and I cannot believe how much better I am feeling, and I am only using it 2x a day for less than 8 minutes each time! It did need to be set up, and DH did that for me, my wonderful hubby can put anything together!! I will include a link too if you want to check it out www.solosportsusa.com
When I think back to where I was 2 years ago, seeing a chiropractor 3x a week, undergoing the spinal decompression......and even seeing a back surgeon who recommended a partial discectomy and some kind of .......otomy because of my L4-5 herniated disc, I am SO glad I did not do this!! Besides using the inversion table, I try to "keep it movin" and not sit so much, and I also do a lot of deep yoga stretches.....no bouncing. I love that too!! I hope I have not bored you, but I did want to give you an update!!
God bless you all, and please keep the victims and families of Japan with the devastating earthquake/tsunami in your prayers.
Happy spring too!!
