I'm finding my way back to exercising. It's going slow but it's definetely going into the right direction. I couldn't work out yesterday, but I walked despite the rain, so that's good. On Wed I ran for 10 min and walked for another 45.
As to my plans with running: . I did 10 min on Sunday and 10 min on Wed. I was considerably faster on Wed. I can't run for long yet, even if I slow down I can't run much longer, I tried to power it out for 5 min, then walk 5, then run 5 again, then walk...that was not perfect... Hmmm. I just joined the "5K your way" jog/walk team and will stick to that programm!
I feel a bit ashamed, as I am not sooooo fast, but hey I'm doing it and it takes time to build a routine... I always liked running when in school (long distances), I hope I can build a nice routine until summer.
I also did the 30 day shredd once and have a SHAPE-exercise DVD that came with the latest german issue of the magazine, so will try to do that as well...
I am writing my second essay which is due on Monday and I worked, so with making an effort I now see that I can do what I have to do and still run.
I had to force myself to go outside running on Sunday but now I'm looking forward to it. I am under a lot of stress, I work a full teaching schedule and I study full time, it's mad and I am not cured of depression despite living with it quite well... Still stress really gets to me and I have days where I cry a lot. So I think going outside is really good...
We had some warm spring days, but it's rainy now. The weekend will bring better weather as well, so me and my bf will walk a lot on Sunday...
He's wonderfuly supportive and I am now always announcing my fitness routine because I know he will ask me after how it went and this encourages me to go out and do it :)... But in a motivational way, it's just that it helps me not to make excuses. On some days life gets to busy but this helps me not to make excuses when there really aren't any...

There is an article on today's front page in the he HEALTHY LIFESTYLE --- FITNESS section of the website: The wrong reasons to train... it just made me muse about this in a comment and I think I know now why I abandonned the exercising when it got stressful: I was doing fitness cardio videos inside, when I want to be outside and rather do abs and strenght training when using a DVD and not cardio! I need a fun factor to stay motivated!

Thanks for this article... I am just back after a stressful 3 weeks and I'm musing over this topic anyway. I do fitness videos and they make me feel great after, but to be honest I don't enjoy them so much. I think I will have an easier time sticking to exercising if I chose something I like, so I've picked up running again. The winter is ending and I can go outside again. It rains now but even so, the fresh air and light helps me, also with my mood. So walking and running and trying to do 1-2 fitness videos is gonna be my plan. I like strength exercises with weights and ab workouts but not the cardio... So I will try to get fitness videos that are for abs and strength and get my cardio through running... Wow, typing this out really helped! Thanks!
