Supreme 90 Day Workout Chest/Back

Monday, March 14, 2011

Meant to start this set Sunday but we did yardwork instead (3 hours, 1600 calories) so I don't have to feel guilty. Did the first workout of Supreme 90 Workout today. Was chest and back exercises. Saw some comments on beach body about how it was just a p90x ripoff but the workout was completely different other than a plain set of pushups *gasp*. It was set up in paired exercises, do each pair for 3 sets then move onto the next pair. The last exercise was a single exercise done for 2 sets but it was a combined movement (pushup with rows). There was a generic warm up before the workout and a stretch afterwards. My understanding from reviews is that these are the same for each workout.

There was also an additional warmup as part of the workout that was more specific for the dvd. There was a "core warmup" that consisted of bicycles, supreme crunch, and plank twist. This was repeated two or three times, I forgot to write down that part. This was followed by arm circles and then the workout.

PushUps
Bent over rows
x3

Dumbbell (DB) Chest Press
Overhead Pullover
x3

Decline Pushup on Ball
Prone Press
x3

DB Upper Cuts
DB Deadlift
x3

Chestfly on Ball
Upper Back Extention on Ball
x3

Pushup with DB Row (do pushup and then in up position do a row with each arm)
x2

To be honest, I did just one set of most of the exercises but I still really felt it after the yard work yesterday. Downside of the video was that they do not have the convenient chapters for advancing/rewinding between exercises, the chapters are just warmup, workout, and cooldown. But still a decent workout for a shorter time period (~30 minutes including warm up/stretching).

I dont plan on following the nutrition guide. I prefer following calories and macronutrient guidelines not specific menus. They do say its based on portion control, but I prefer knowing what is going on so that I can make my own choices. Not that I plan on eating junk, just not their exact menu.
