So I've been lifting heavy for 8 weeks and decided to completely confuse my body and do a 100's workout this week. Yesterday was the first day I had enough time to try it out and it was completely insane. The basic premise (if you don't already know) is to pick a light but still semi-challenging weight and bust out 100 reps. You go until failure and take a rest equal to the amount of reps you have remaining to reach 100 (so if you did 40 before failure, you would rest for 60 seconds then start again). Since I periodically incorporate high rep/low weight training into my routine I didn't think it would be that difficult. BOY WAS I WRONG. Yesterday I focused on back and chest. By my third exercise my right pec was shaking like crazy and my hands were going numb. Today I'm sore which is great because I haven't been sore in weeks. I'm glad I decided to switch it up this week and hopefully my body will wake up! Next week will be back to the heavy weights to finish out my 12 week transformation.
On another note I have completely lost all motivation for cardio. I know that when I consistently do my cardio I get the best results but I'm just not feelin' it! I guess I'll drag myself to Step class tonight and hope for nicer weather tomorrow. Maybe getting outside for a bit will help...
