I always wondered what got people through a run. I have always dreamed of being a runner, having the wind in your face, the fluid steps, the focus, the breathing...but I just never thought it was for me. How do people do it? How can I expect to be able to run with all this weight on me?

Well, I have decided that I am going to be a runner. I try to run on the treadmill or on the track 3x a week and so far I am able to run 1.5 miles on the treadmill (no stopping, YAY!) and about 1 mile on the track (this is alwaysmuch harder for me but I like being outside). Today I ran for 7 minutes, walked for 3. In the 7 minutes I ran almost 3 laps around the track and eventhough I still feel like that wasn't good enough, I can actually say that it was the best I have ever done in my entire life.

The hardest thing sometimes is looking at the people around me on the track and how they are quick and just "lap me" so easily! But, TODAY.IT.HIT.ME! What the heck am I doing comparing myself to these people. I have an extra 40 lbs on me that I have to lug around this track (I am giggling as I write this) and I am doing a great job at that! I seriously realized how great it was that I could do as much as I did and not want to just give up. So...for that, I AM SUPER PROUD OF MYSELF!

So, with that I just want to congratulate each and every person that got up this morning and did something for her/himself that paves the way for a healthier and happier person. I applaud each and every one of us!!!
