Clutter - Simplicity

Wednesday, March 09, 2011

emoticon "Out of clutter find simplicity; from discord find harmony; in the middle of difficulty lies opportunity." - Albert Einstein

Clutter = chaos and discord

Which comes first: chaos out of which comes discord or discord which creates chaos?

My house is cluttered; it wasn't this way the first several years I lived hear. It seems as I gained weight these last several (4-5 yrs) my house became more cluttered and messy. I strongly dislike both - the clutter in my house and in my body & mind. Which came first, I'm not sure.

I like Albert Einstein and when I read the above quote it reminded me that I can have simplicity and harmony in my life - body, mind, and home.

1) Today I walked with my puppy (at a good speed) approx. 35 minutes.
2) I also, spent 15 minutes hand-washing dishes, walking @ 2 ft from the sink to my kitchen table several times. (& 1 load in the dishwasher)
3) Cleaned up paper recycables and trash.
4) Cleaned bathroom sink
5) Two loads of laundry

I think this is a good "start" (restart) to achieving calmness and clearing out the clutter.

Praise God for the energy I had today.

  emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon They say that decluttering is a sign of recovery. I think that it is sign of a journey on our road of good health and recovery! Good for you! I was told to do 20 minutes a day - clean out 1 drawer a day or 1 shelf of a cabinet, etc. If you do that every day or so (doesn't even have to be every day) you will be amazed @ how fast your home becomes clutter free! I'm praying for you daily.

    I can relate to your observation about clutter on the body and in the house; I, too have experienced this. . .and I, too am wading through the process of decluttering both! Congratulations on making those babysteps to find your peace :)
