Blew It!

Sunday, March 06, 2011

So I blew it yesterday - my calorie count I mean - badly, a whole day's food allowance more than I needed. The culprit? Girl Scout Cookies! Those delicious, seductively gooey chocolately caramel kind. Out of, I hope, generosity, I fell prey to the salesmanship of a delightful little neighbor girl several months ago, and yesterday she showed up with the goodies. Last evening, I thought I would sample a couple. I sampled them all right - a full 2 BOXES OF THEM DISAPPEARED RAPIDLY DOWN MY GULLET. I was like a shark in feeding frenzy! 30 cookies, gone, zip! Apparently, I cannot allow such treats to enter my house.I am powerless before them, like an alcoholic after his first drink. Actually, sugary stuff does work in the body like alcohol, so I guess I should have known that. What did I learn? In the words of a TV show host I watched this morn (a day late!) "MAKE THE BEST FOOD CHOICES YOU CAN TODAY - and then, try it again tomorrow!" - Dr. John La Puma, M.D.

I know this is a serious subject, but I'm one to see the humor in things. You gave me a belly laugh! I just love your writing style. And I know your certainly on track now.

Have that same problem, son brought some Cinnabons here and I can't pass them up and ate one. Not good since I do have problems with wheat. ''sign"

I have done this, too! I can't even see a box of Thin Mints or Samoas without wanting to rip them open and eat every last one.

But today is new, and you are back on the wagon. Celebrate that victory!! You can do this!

I know what you mean--isn't a whole box a serving?

Ach, like and learn--if you have any left, dump them at work!
