30 Day Photo Challenge: Days 26 & 27

Saturday, March 05, 2011

Here's the concept - it's pretty simple - you post a photo a day based on the guidelines below:

Wow, I can't believe I'm almost done with this challenge. I'll have to find another one to keep me occupied lol.

Day 26: A picture of something that means a lot to you

I thought about this long and hard and for once I didn't want to put more than one picture (because I'm pretty sure that's why it's called a challenge, so here goes....

This is the picture I was going to put for "my most treasured posession" but I decided to save it for now (plus my scanner wasn't working at the time). This is one of the few pictures that exists of my parents from their wedding day. It was just a small (maybe 8 x 10) normal sized photograph that my Mom gave to me once, and I guess she had forgotten that she gave me it (or that it even existed) because a few years after she gave it to me, I had it blown up and framed for my parents Christmas present (since it was the only pic that we have of the actual ceremony or reception) and she started crying (happily) and asking me where I'd found that picture. I reminded her, and this picture now hangs in their bedroom (but I have the original lol). My parents do mean the world to me and I don't tell them that often enough but it's true. Plus, My Dad is quite dashing in this picture and I love my Mom's Mary Tyler Moore-esque hairdo. Very Sassy!

Day 27: A picture of yourself and a family member

How about the whole family (pretty much). From left: My Brother, Graeme, My Sister, Gillian, My Granny, My Nephew, Andrew, My Mom, My Dad, Charlie and I. The only one missing is my Brother In Law, Tim, but he's taking the picture. Obviously taken on Christmas Day maybe 3 years ago.

Coming Soon:

Day 28 - A picture of something you're afraid of
Day 29 - A picture that can always make you smile
Day 30 - A picture of you last year and now, how have you changed since then?

I love the pic of your parents. And what a wonderfully sweet gift for you to give them!! And Ohh-Emm-Gee....Samantha often does the same thing for me (giving a blown up pic as a gift) 2 years ago she had a pic made of me and my dad (redone in b/w) at MY wedding in 1984 (he passed away in 1986) and I cried like a baby! This year she gave her dad a beautiful framed pic of the beloved 66 Mustang he had has a teen! So trust me, as a parent we LOVE LOVE LOVE when you "kids" give us that kind of a gift!

And you always have to love pictures of the whole fam damily! Especially when the doggie is included as well! Granny looks so happy and proud of her family. Lovely, lovely, lovely!!
