I can honestly say that February was a very odd month! The month went along great, until I got off of the crutches... which really makes no sense. The second half of the month has not been so good... and my results show that. So here are my "numbers" for the month:
Weight: 2.6 lbs. gained
Body fat %: 0.4% gained
Upper arms: no change
Chest: 0.75 in. lost
Waist: no change
Hips: 1 in. lost
Thighs: 0.5 in. lost
Calves: 0.25 lost
So as you can see by the numbers, I gained a couple lbs. (all in the last week, by the way), and yet I lost 2.5 inches. I'm not sure if the gain is due to excess sodium intake, muscle gain, or just a change in my routine. I have had a couple of higher calorie days, but I've tried to increase my workouts and offset them w/ a lower calorie day too, so who knows...
The saddest thing about the gain this past week is that on Feb. 15th, I "re-entered" ONEderland... but unfortunately, the weigh-in this week through me back into the 200's. (if I have a major loss again this week, then I'll know it was because of the sodium... which is what I'm really hoping for!)
I did finally get off the crutches this month... a couple days later than I planned, but that's okay... the important this is that they are history! Therapy is going well, and they continue to progress me every single visit. I still have 6 more weeks before I'll hopefully be released to return to work, which is a good thing because I've discovered that my strength and stamina are nothing like they used to be. So, that is my current focus: working on building both of those back up (as well as losing more weight of course)! In order to do that, I've enlisted the help of a personal trainer... w/ weekly appointments to start out, but hopefully increasing to twice a week as soon as we know that my hip will be able to handle it. I did hit the gym again this week... swimming laps yesterday and doing upper body weight-lifting today. Boy, did that feel great!
So, that's about it for now... hopefully between being able to really workout again, and the personal trainer's assistance, I'll have some great numbers to report next month! Until then...
