De-clutter and Eating Out Update

So far so good!
Last night I cleaned off the long counter/breakfast bar and wiped it down and it looks amazing! I kept going back in the kitchen just to look at it. It's so calming to have that clutter GONE! And more to go in the next few days!
Also, this morning I began washing dishes before work. I plan to continue tonight before choir and maybe do a little more after choir, depending on how long it takes me to prep for tomorrow (packing lunch and snacks and getting exercise clothes ready).
One bonus - I had time to get the bathroom sink cleaned and unstopped (it wasn't completely clogged but had been really slow and backing up for quite a while). Liquid Plumber is da bomb!
I'm pretty excited about my progress on this (in case you couldn't tell)
Also, today I have a pre-planned lunch with former colleagues at one of our favorite places to eat. I've already researched and chosen my meal and made my plan to take 1/2 of it home for dinner tonight.
Of course it helps that a few folks have read the blog - lol - amazing how having someone else know what you've planned really helps you be accountable for doing it.
My New Year's goal (for the past couple of years) has been to simplify my life - one way I'm doing that is with the de-cluttering. I read somewhere that we should be good stewards of our lives and part of being a good steward is taking care of the things (and the people) in our lives. If we aren't able to take care of the things in our lives, perhaps it's because we have too many of them. And the worry about taking care of the things can often interfere with taking care of the people in our lives. That really struck a cord with me and I have been slowly but surely working my way to a simpler life by de-cluttering and getting rid of things (i.e. I no longer have the same shirt in 4 sizes. I have the size I currently wear. All others are in packed and ready for Goodwill or the consignment shop).
