Last month I posted a picture of 5 pounds of fat. Pretty disgusting, really.
I went to the doctor for a routine check up. I complained that I had been faithfully exercising but not seeing the scale move quick enough. She explained that my body is building it's muscle mass back up through the exercise, and losing the fat. For a while, I may not see the scale move but I should notice a change in my body. I have!! My clothes are looser, and I can see a little bit of change in the visual.
I had heard this before....I wanted to roll my eyes. But didn't...after all, she is the doctor who went to medical school!! When I got home, I decided to see if I could find a comparison of fat to muscle. Sure enough!! Check this out!!
Both weigh the same, but the muscle takes up less space! It is true!! No more eye-rolling for me!
I am happy to say that I have now lost 6 pounds since January first...and it is coming off because I added exercise. I really have not improved my diet much...and if I would be more consistent there, I would reach my ideal weight much quicker!
My goals for March:
See the scale move from 171.2 to 168.
Track my foods Mon-Fri.
On the weekends, I will use just the quick track to log my water, fruits/veggies, and exercise that I get in.
Walk on my treadmill AT LEAST 30 min/day Mon-Fri.
No "solo" eating out!!! No drive through meals...healthy or not.
I am feeling good and thrilled to be seeing the scale move as well as feel my clothes not as tight! Join me in this quest for healthier living!!
