So this morning was my weigh in and I really did not want to update my weight here. I'm up 1.8 pounds. I knew that there would probably be a gain this week. Massive PMS cravings/binging and then TOM started yesterday. But I did record it and now I'll move on. This journey is about the long haul, getting healthy and I am trying to not focus so much on the scale as on the journey but it is still disappointing to post a gain! I need to come up with some better ways to cope with the PMS cravings. This will be my challenge for this month. March will also be difficult as I will be away for my son's hockey tournaments 2 weekends in a row and then there is spring break. I have a plan to tackle the hockey tournaments. I am going to make lots of muffins to take along as well as take along fruits and veggies as well as yogurt. Hopefully we will be able to eat breakfasts and lunches from the stuff I bring along and then we'll only eat out for dinner. It will be cheaper this way as well. I also plan to bring along lots of healthy snack options for the kids and me. My son has to be at the arena an hour before his game time so I plan to take the other kids with me on a walk during this time, just hoping that the weather will be good enough to do so. Anyway that is the plan for the month.

    I read an article yesterday, that stated we defeat ourselves with Monday weigh ins. That a mid week weight could be more accurate.
We usually retain water in our body for many reasons and week ends are the worst time to gain water weight. It is not fat most of the time. If we are more active our muscles grab water, if we are less active our bodies grab water. If we eat more salt we hold water. People do not follow routines usually on week ends, but go outside of their normal structure.
I can fluctuated 3 pounds when I eat soup and a salad at a restaurant even though I have stayed under my calories. MSG and salt. It takes a day or two to get it back down.
So I declared Weds, as my weigh in day.
