Whole Foods Week Update

Well, it looks like I've done it. I've gone almost an entire week eating nothing but whole foods (foods in as close to their natural state as possible, no cans or boxes or processing allowed).

While the eating whole foods was fine, the planning for it was tricky. I've discovered that planning for 4 or 5 days ahead is not bad, but planning for a week or more ahead is tricky. I didn't realize how sick of some foods I would become (and not my breakfasts, believe it or not). Also, I did not know that I would run out of some food, necessitating a change of plans on the day.

All in all, a success, if my weigh-in is as good as I think it is going to be tomorrow or Monday morning. So far, I am down almost 4 pounds.

    I would have loved to know what foods you have been eating. I am trying, but I still sneak in a box or two now and then. How are you doing on this now?

    This is awesome! I think you should look at a few recipe books and batch cook a few items that you can use to mix it up. Also, maybe you could pick up a few new spices to add to your collection (no salt variety). I am thinking cumin and chili and maybe if you like Indian food a curry spice. I am not sure what rules there are about juices, vinegars and oils, but you could try making your own marinade for chicken or fish. I like an orange juice/garlic marinade for salmon.

I can't wait to hear more about this!

  Way to go, lady! Keep it up. I use organic milk, and do use a very few cans; tuna in water and black beans. I do use a few GF mixes, but they have no garbage ingredients. If I can help it, HFCs never enter our home. They give me headaches. But, I have my downfalls.
Let me guess; are you getting tired of chicken? I would. Can you eat things like good cottage cheese and stuff like that? Hope the weigh-in is good.
