No eating after 4 PM - Is it feasible?

For the past few days I've been trying out a new eating schedule so that I don't eat after 4 PM. Previously I was trying to limit my calories to 1500 daily, but was finding that mid-mornings and mid-afternoons I was getting sluggish and shaky.

Since ending my eating at 4, I have been eating more earlier in the day. The plus has been a spike in energy during the day, no more sluggishness and shakiness, and (amazingly) more energy in the evening. The negative has been that I am no longer able to eat when my family eats at dinner.

Has anyone else tried this kind of eating schedule? Has it worked on a long-term basis? What are your thoughts? I'd love to hear ideas! mydailyavocado.com

    yes, don't work, b.c I like eating with my family!

I just ate at 1 am, b.c I was really under my cals today! I missed a meal! my schedule is crazy ;p so I like flexible! I am dealing with binge monster! SP friends are helping keep accountable!

    I, like many others, grew up in the '50s when it was a 3-meals per day life most always with family around the table. I don't think if I still had children at home, I could give that up. Being with them and teaching them about the family circle of life is so important. However, this is your journey and need to make it work for you. I wish you well.

    I sometimes don't eat dinner until 9 pm. I could never stop eating at 4. I've read on SP that the body doesn't know what time it is and will metabolize what you eat whenever you eat it. So, as long as you're staying within your calories, it really doesn't matter what time you're eating. Also, I wouldn't want to give up eating dinner with my family.

    I grew up like many from the 50's, actually eating 3 meals a day sit down with the family. We would have a desert after dinner, and that would be it. We never wined to have any more. Dinner was always satisfying .

I have struggled to dind something to work for me....and hit on the 400 calorie fix....fits well with Jorge Cruise's 3 hour diet too.

So now I have a BIG breakfast, from 400-430 in the AM....4 hours later , lunch, 4 hours after thant dinner. THEN maybe a 200 calorie snack around 8 pm. WORKING for me.

    I personally cannot go for more than 3-4 hours without food or I get really irritable. I have in the past gone for long stretches during the day for the sake of losing weight, but I think the energy I felt was simply the "high" of thinking about how much weight I would lose. Ultimately, that was not sustainable and led me to rubber band back into overeating. That being said, I think if something works for you and you feel good, then stick with it!

    We eat an early dinner at around 3:30 due to my hubby's work schedule and I find it works very well for me. I stay full because I eat protein, salads and a carb and then I sip on herbal tea in the evenings. I think this schedule has helped me alot on this journey.

    It wouldn't work for me. I start work early and I work late, so not eating after 4 wouldn't work for me. I prefer to eat small meals every couple of hours. It keeps me on an even keel and I don't feel deprived. My dinners are usually pretty small but I definitely eat in the evening.
