Test Results.

Thursday, February 24, 2011

I went for a full blood panel, A1C and cholesterol tests on Monday. Apparently my liver enzymes are high and my doctor called and wants me to go back in in two weeks and have another blood test. Joy..................... High liver enzymes (they said) could be cause by a number of reasons. Yay...........................
..........................
................... (NOT).

On the good note my cholesterol ROCKS!
Overall total: 165 down from 177
LDL: 107 down from 140
Triglycerides: 79 down from 117
HDL: is low @ 42 (and they want it to be over 50). I just can't seem to raise it either.

The SO-SO result: my A1C (blood glucose range for 3 months) is 6.3 down from 6.5. Now, considering I have been uber diligent in avoiding sugar n processed carbs, I'm happy but sorta let down. My Mom says that it's good, but, my optimistic side was hoping to get off of one of the 8 meds I am on.................

Overall mood right now: tired. (And craving popcorn.)

I had high liver enzymes, Dr. had me do 3 ultrasounds to see if I have gallstones, kidneystones, they looked at liver..I was fine; I did have problem with my digestion/malabsorption issues due to finding out 1 month later I had Celiac Disease..nothing major, allergic to wheat, oats, barley, and you are born with it..so it stressed the liver...so I am not saying that is what you have, I am saying that something can be stressing your liver to raise your levels...but you are doing great. Perhaps your body just needs time to adjust to new lifestyle of eating. I changed my lifestyle to not eat any of those items ever again and my liver enzymes are perfect.......

    Hey Girlie!!!

You are doing great!!! Just think, you are going in the right direction and I have faith that you will bring those numbers down!!! I know what it is like to get those darn blood tests back... I am waiting myself for a bunch I got taken last week... partly due to all my stress too... among all the other environmental factors.... we can do this!!!! We WILL do this to be healthier... you have done so much just since you started last month and those numbers are down... keep it up and they will still go down!!! emoticon

Great LDL drop! Shows that you are doing something right. For the A1C - is the doctor concerned? I'm thinking it just takes time for your body to respond. My bet would be in another 3 months the number would show a significant drop.
