Flannel Lined Jeans and Snow Shovels

Thursday, February 24, 2011

It snowed yesterday. Actually, it Whited OUT yesterday. It is snowing again now.

Here is a photo I snapped during the whiteout while walking with Winsten. Gives you an idea of what we were walking through.

Actually, this was the beginning of the white out. It got much worse a short while later.

I need to do Cardio today. Ok.

I found my flannel lined jeans which I bought several years ago, and haven't fit into them since washing them.

Hmmmmm........maybe it's time to try them again.

HOLY SMOKES!!! I could pull them right up. And even almost got them zipped while standing. Laying on the bed to zip them up worked nicely, although I am not going to snap the waistband.

I mean, I am going SNOW SHOVELING, for Pete's sake. I don't care if my belly folds over the waistband; I just care that I have warm pants on. This is not a time for a fashion statement.

What better motivation to go out and shovel snow than to have your fat hanging over your jeans???

Last time I shoveled, I did so for three days running. Then I did one week down with my bad back.

Today I am going to try to do this rationally. I am setting myself a time limit.

I will do one half hour of shoveling, then come in to shower and work on my art quilt.

Wanna make a bet that I can keep it to one HALF hour?

Any takers?

Those of you who know me, stop laughing!!

Here's what I did the last time we had a good snow.

Winsten is telling me to get off Flicka and come play in the snow, so I gotta go for now, Sportsfans!

Well, I knew you couldn't limit yourself to 30 minutes, but I'm glad it was only 65 and not 180. Shoveling snow is like eating potato chips or peanuts or cookies. It's really hard to stop.

Woo hoo, good for you to get into the flannel jeans. I buy winter weight pants for my dh, but never think to do the same for me. Maybe next fall ...

I hope you took a timer with you out to do your shoveling--take it easy there, my friend! The snow is *supposed* to be done later today, we'll see what the weather decides to do. I'm glad our 'snow event' here hasn't been as bad; no real need to shovel at our house (only 2-3 inches has fallen so far), but I'd still rather stay home than have to drive in it. Glad the flannel-lined jeans fit sufficiently, wish I had a pair today!

How great! I whole-heartedly believe if we are going to be cold, it might as well snow and look pretty. The last time I got out and shoveled though, my gout flared up and I couldn't use my hands without pain for several days. Definately something to put a time limit on. I hope you were able to limit yourself and not hurt your back. Backpain is no fun!
Flannel-lined jeans - oooohh. I wish I had a pair. I have bought them for my kids, but have never seen any for adults. Gotta get me a pair of those. I did invest in snow pants last winter though. So grateful for those!
Have fun in your winter wonderland.
