JAPAN!!! Here we come!

Thursday, February 24, 2011

I posted it on my status late last week, but my daughter and I are headed with my brother and his girlfriend to JAPAN!! And, we bought the tickets last week and are headed there NEXT week! Yep! This is a fast trip!

So, I've been extremely busy planning! I haven't been on SP much at all. I have been exercising 'like crazy'... and I'm sore to prove it. But, I haven't been tracking calories and am back up a few pounds. That's OK, though! It could be muscle, or just regular fluctuations. And, I WILL get those pounds back off. It just might have to wait until we get back from Japan!

I am disappointed that I'm not going to be participating in the 10K I had planned for this weekend. The race was 4 hours away, and I just can't see driving up there this weekend when we leave just a few days later. There is so much to do!

So, we are hoping to head to the lakehouse for at least a night. I haven't been since before Christmas. I am planning a 10 mile run, and it is just nicer down by the lake, too! And, I might take my bike and use it out there, too. I'm not sure about that.

That's my crazy life for the moment! It does seem pretty crazy right now! I knew I'd go back to Europe, but I didn't really dream that we'd be heading to Asia... and it's happened so quickly! I did a lot of clothes shopping last week as I'm shrinking out of all my clothes. I probably need to get another pair of jeans this week. I might look for another sweater, too - it's winter and in the 50s in Tokyo.

I hope you are all having a wonderful week! Sorry I haven't been by any blogs in the past few days. Life will be back to 'normal' soon, and I hope to have more time! Until then, stay healthy, eat well, and get some exercise! emoticon

I spent three weeks there last May and found it to be the most memorable trip I have ever had. Japan was so much more than I expected - more clean, more orderly, more modern. I generally keep notes while I am on a trip with the intent of putting them into a journal when I get back home. I have bags of notes with no journal, but I combined them and wrote a journal after I returned. It turned out to be 106 pages of wonderful memories and experiences. I am happy to share ideas with you if you are interested. Regardless, you will have an enlightening experience. One quick story: We boarded a train in Tokyo that has one of the records for being late. We heard apologies because the last record showed the train running a constant 6 seconds late over the past month. Six seconds! Are you kidding me? My watch is slower than that.
