Therapy Update #4...

I haven't updated everyone on how therapy is going for awhile, and since I really don't have anything to blog about today, no better time than the present! (besides, I need to blog for my Daisies team)

I've been off my crutches for exactly 1 week today... if I concentrate & walk slowly (which is totally not in my nature), I can walk very steady and evenly. However, when I start to get a little speed going, I develop a little bit of a limp... gotta watch that!

Therapy continues to progress... still doing 1 day a week in the pool, and back to 2 days in the gym. I've made quite a bit of progress and have most of my mobility back, but strength really sucks yet. And I definitely don't have my stamina back!

They have been adding in some new exercises... squats, lunges, step-ups... and I can tell you one thing: my glutes definitely feel all of those! LoL If nothing else, maybe P.T. will help me tone up my backside a bit...

Still lookin' at 6-8 more weeks off work... when they first told me that before surgery, I couldn't imagine why it would take that long. Now that I'm halfway through my recovery period... I can definitely understand why! There is absolutely no way that I could even make it through an 8-hr shift, let alone the 12-hr shift that I'm scheduled for 3x a week.

So... that's the update for now... slow & steady progress...

    Glad to hear you're slowly recovering-baby-stepping is a good way to increase your workouts & strength...Do you scrapbook or like to read? Great time to start/do your hobbies!!! emoticon

    It sounds like you are making progress. I hate that the stamina doesn't come back as quickly as one would want. Oh well, I guess this helps us to listen to our bodies. I hope your progress continues steadily forward.

    Glad to hear that you are progressing! It is hard to believe the time it really take to heal. But they did do alot more than expected so the recovering is taking longer than you would have liked. You will be back to yourself in no time!
