I do the bioidentical. Don't laugh but I was reading that Suzanne Somers book "Breakthrough" way before they featured in in the SATC movie! haha

Hmm..I can't remember what the original dr's office and test visit cost but the actual meds from the compound pharmacy are CHEAP! My insurance did cover the Dr's visit and test.

I would likewise urge you to read that book and avoid synthetics. Sorry I didn't see this sooner I wasn't getting your updates.

I too had a total hysterectomy almost 10 years ago now at age 39. I was started on HRT at the time of my surgery but went off them after about 2 months. I've been blessed that I don't suffer many side affects from menopause (and there's a whole long medical history behind that)

However did notice some personality issues about a year ago and have a great dr and did lots of talking and research and felt it may be a hormone thing. So went back on HRT (synthetic) and it really helps. I've not noticed any difference with weight gain (but I also have hypothyroidism) so there's that to deal with too.

Anywho....not much help to you. I have no clue as to the bio meds and how those would work. But I have been lucky with the synthetic.

Hope you can find some anwers because I know it's a frustrating and miserable thing!!

    Good luck!!
