Like Girl Scout Cookies?

Wednesday, February 23, 2011

I know those cookies are hard to resist. I had a few last week. But this information was posted recently...

Thin Mints are the lowest calorie treats you can get from the Girl Scouts at 40 calories each. If you eat four cookies, you'd need to spend about a half an hour of bicycling to burn them off.
Samoas are about 70 calories each. It would take a half an hour of leisurly walking to burn off one cookie.
For you peanut butter fans... Tagalongs are also 70 calories each. You could eat two-- you can burn them off with a half an hour of water aerobics.

*sighs* Back to the gym for me.

Woohoo!! I live in Canada so we don't have Girl Scouts!!! No need to worry about burning off those tasty sounding cookies... We do have Girl Guides and they also sell cookies but luckily they only sell three varieties; the blandish vanilla and chocolate creams and the delicious Chocolatey Mint Cookies. The seriously good thing as that I never see any Girl Guides where I live!!!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Girl Scout Cookies! Especially the Samoas. They have been lurking in my freezer for a few weeks now, coming out in 2s & 3s on their guerrilla commando raids. They are taken prisoner and executed. Soon they will have been wiped out as a fighting force in the empire of Fangfacekitty...but they are numerous & breed like rabbits and little guerrilla cells have prepared ambushes throughout neighboring countries, most notably at Lowe's and grocery stores.

Samoas are my favorite! Especially real samoas... not caramel de-lites. They're good, but not as good. People don't believe me that they are different. The ingredient list proves it! Unfortunately, I haven't quite figured out how to combine girl scout cookies with moderation.

    Thanks for the information,

I have been hiding from Girl Scouts for a month now. I believe there are 28 thin mints in one pouch. That would be 7 x150 or 3.5 hours of exercise Per pouch. emoticon

They do look good but for me they just are NOT worth it! Yes I exercise more then needed anyway but still there are so many things I can eat more of, for less calories and know that I am doing what is healthy!!! Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, I used to think a whole box was one serving. Imagine my surprise when I found out I was only supposed to eat one or two cookies!! emoticon
