Hey everyone! I'm sorry for not being around, and even sorrier that, though I'm back, I'm still not going to be around. Basically I'm back to use the tools, especially the nutrition and fitness trackers, and I may blog every once in a while as I believe keeping a journal throughout an experience helps you learn more. So please don't be offended that I won't be doing a lot of reading/ responding to blogs, reading/ responding to team posts, etc. My health and fitness are high on my super long list of priorities, yet sparking is not. Maybe one day I'll be able to return to a full-functioning Sparker!
So, beginning again. They say the third time's the charm, right? Fall and winter seem to be hard seasons for me. I can't run outside and the food and treats never seem to go away. My goal for the holidays was to maintain my weight at 164, but instead I gained 4 lbs. 4 lbs is not that big of a deal so I'm not beating myself up about it, but my new goal is to finally reach my goal weight by my birthday, June 3rd. I really think I can do it.
Last night I was talking to a "friend" who also used to spark and he decided today was the day he would get back on. So naturally I followed suit. I know the tools have helped me in the past so I will utilize them again. I know the encouraging social aspect of sp is important as well, but I know that throwing myself back into it would mean shirking on other important things, such as work and school. So I'm back to the basics.
I did a 50 minute strength/ cardio circuit this morning. Tomorrow is a running day, I'm going to try for 6 miles again. I sprained my ankle a couple months ago and once I was able to run again I decided to work my way back up to 6 miles slowly. This is the week I need to do it. I can't wait to get back outside to run. Shouldn't be too long now. Maybe just a few more weeks. I'm doing my first half marathon in April, so I have to train for it. I literally HAVE to since I already paid for it :)
I logged my food this morning and I remembered that I do know how to eat healthy. As long as I only eat what I log, I'm good. But since I haven't been logging I've been losing track of what I ate, which led to eating too much. I'm grateful for the food tracker. It's my friend.
I started doing Zumba at my church on Saturday mornings. One of the ladies who is a dynamite dancer instructs this class for free. It's really fun!
I'm glad Biggest Loser is on tonight. It always motivates me to get off my bum! Oh, I also got a new ipod on which I downloaded all my running songs and then some. It's been a really great addition to my workouts!
