Are you feeling lonely and upset? Bored??

Tuesday, February 22, 2011

I answered a post called "feeling lonely and upset" this morning and realized that maybe more people need to know they are not alone. What follows is my very short but from the heart reply to this spark-member. Feel free to copy & use it yourself if you know of others also feeling lonely and upset.

"I saw your "feeling lonely and upset" post - honey, we've all been there and still visit sometimes.

For a species that revels in individuality - we are no better than any other species on the planet - we still like to travel in packs for safety and comfort.

SparkPeople is your new pack. We are always here, 24/7, all you need to do is come online and start cruising the spark pages when you feel bored and lonely. It helped me through the early, rough days and it can help you too."

That was some of the best advice that I have heard in a LONG time. No one is alone even when you feel that way.

Each of us are alone in so many ways. That is what makes us unique.Enjoy your alone time. A time to reflect and then know that we are here when you really need us.

I loved it, I am very much an advocate of the "pack" or "village". It is modern society that promotes individuality to the exclusion of the village that we all need. We used to have huge extended families that helped each other both physically and mentally. Now we live in our separate little boxes!. And I agree also we now have this alternative pack or village here on Sparkpeople where we can connect with others and reach out for support. emoticon
