Rained, Then Snowed, Out

Monday, February 21, 2011

Winsten and I decided we would get in more walking.

I got my jacket and uggs on, and out the door we went.

It was sprinkling. Not to worry; we have walked in sprinkles before!

We get to the top of the driveway, and it is RAINING.

I mean, RAINING. Ok. We keep going toward the mailbox.

Now it was sleeting. And sleeting rather hard, too.

We are committed to the mail box, so we travel on.

By the time we get to the mailbox, the sleet had turned to little hail, and then a very fast snow.

We are at the mailbox and then I remember today is President's Day, so no mail.

I have no hood on my jacket, and we are really getting pelted by the fast, blowing snow.

Winsten is looking at me as if to say "now WHY are we out here???".

We speedily walk back to the house, logging in a half mile, and wouldn't you just know it.

The snow is nearly stopped.

We are soaked, but sure did a fast half mile. Better than nothing.

I change my clothes, dry my hair and am heading into the quilt room. I think I will play some Harry Belafonte music and imagine myself in the warm, bright sunny Carribbean.

We had the same weather yesterday and I applaud your halfmile, I hated walking thru the parking lot at the grocery store.

That's the great thing about making exercise a habit, you just get out and do it!

That is so funny. But you got out, even though the weather wasn't great. Hope you warmed up and worked more on your quilt.

What a weather day, eh? And you got to experience it all firsthand, lucky you! I'll bet Winston really was wondering what on earth you were doing outside in all of that; glad you got your exercise in, but not quite that way! Belafonte and the Caribbean, what a nice thought . . . stay warm and dry, my friend!

Oh, wow. I sure hope that's not what we're going to get tomorrow. My Wednesday walk is on Tuesday this week because of the forecasted bad weather.

Belafonte and the Caribbean... ah!

I applaud you for going out in bad weather! When I looked out the window when I got up this morning there was already 3 inches of snow on my car roof - I so wanted to go back to bed! :) emoticon

Yes! A half mile is totally better than nothing :) Way to get it in despite the weather.
