I have joined the 28 Day Bootcamp on Sparkpeople.com. I am enjoying the way that it already integrates with my daily fitness and diet goals. Also, anyone who has ever played XBox with me knows that I am very much attached to those little digital achievements. At the end of the 28 days, if you logged something and made an effort each week, you will get a nice little trophy for your profile. I really like that.
One of my fast break goals is to play an active video game every day. This is where Kinect comes in. All the games I have are very active - but I'm currently trying to get all the achievements in YourShape Fitness and play it every day - that will also meet my 30 minutes of cardio needed 5 days a week for the Boot Camp. While the workouts Coach Nicole provides in her videos are thorough, she can't tell me whether my knees are too far over my toes in a lunge - and Kinect does. I learn how to check my form from Kinect and carry that over to the 10 minute daily strength training videos for the bootcamp.
Additionally, I am supposed to track what I eat every day. That's handy for me anyway. If I don't track I think I haven't eaten as much as I have.
I haven't been back at this for long, but I am already tracking results. I can feel the shape of the bones in my chin and jaw now. Soon, I will be able to get into those cute Brazilian pants that I bought on eBay but didn't fit me. It feels good to be making progress.
