Getting old sucks - Metabolism slow down that is :P

Sunday, February 20, 2011

Oh how I envy my youth, just for the metabolism of course.

Isn't it a cruel joke that at the time we don't appreciate it and how easy the weight came off . Now at the age of 45 it takes twice as long to lose half the weight- yes isn't it just grand getting older emoticon

I am not stressing though, vacation time is in 2 weeks I am steady as it goes watching my food and trying to work out whenever possible. Of course it would be fantastic to be down another 5 lbs but I won't let that damn scale rule me. emoticon

My hubby informed me they started a weight loss challenge at his work, therefore he is also on team healthy. It is great to have his support and I am in the process of now checking out some new recipes - because frankly chicken breast can get pretty boring.

I am going to end my blog with some photos from my last trip to Playa Del Carmen - March 4th ladies - countdown is on:)

Definitely harder in my 40s! I also noticed my first 15 pounds came off easily. Now I am SLOW but steady at 2 pounds a week. Vacation is a huge motivator! I have another 2 months before Mexico. Looking forward to some tropical pics from you!

AT 59 when I first started SP, I had to totally revamp my eating...esp the portion size. I've adjusted pretty well & find that these smaller portions & fewer calories actually are enough to keep me from being hungry...but there is not much room for emotional eating or comfort foods. And talk about slowed down running is, of course, slow. But running 5 miles only burns a little over 300 calories for me!!! Getting older is not for sissies! Good luck on your is definitely do-able & worth it.

I know how you feel!! I am 47 and I can see such a huge difference since I turned 40. So frustrating! However, you are GORGEOUS!! BTW, my husband and I went to Playa Del Carmen for our honeymoon (that was 2003). We LOVED it! I'm glad I don't have such a close deadline coming up, as you do, but you look great! Don't stress! Have a great trip!
