4:1 Run/Walk

Saturday, February 19, 2011

Here's the stats: Long slow run out and back straight road with undulating hills.
Temp 42-29.
Wind from SW @ 25-40 mph. Tailwind first 85 minutes, Headwind on return.
Run slow for 4 minutes/walk 1 minute.
Total time 2 hrs. 31 minutes
Felt like I could run another 1-2 hours.
Listened to the Tarzan Soundtrack the whole time, so I got a lot of singing in too!

Overall, for this being 15 weeks until the marathon, I think I can get this done. My rule of thumb is if you can run 10 miles, you can run a marathon. My confidence is lacking a tad because at 55 years old, you manage a lot more variables than at 35. WOW! Can you believe I have been running for 22 years!

Now I have got to start running, since my excuse is that I am too old to start.

I am so glad that you are enjoying the training.
Good luck, I will be rooting for you all the way to 26 miles!!! emoticon emoticon
