What's Your Happy Weight?

While browsing the Self Magazine website reading various articles on nutrition and exercise, I came across a link that said "What's Your Happy Weight?".

126!!! One thing is for sure, I'd sure as hell be happy if I was 126! While I still have a while to go before I get to my Self claimed "Happy Weight" of 126, I have to pause and remember where I've come from. In January 2008, I certainly wasn't at my "Happy Weight" of 199.5 pounds. I was FAR from it. After some fluctuations in weight since 2008 but now being 156, I have to reflect for a moment to think about how much weight I've lost since day one: 43.5 pounds. (I am currently 156). While this is not my goal weight, nor my healthy BMI of 144 pounds, it's still a Happy Weight for me because it isn't nearly 200 pounds.

If 126 is the number Self Magazine thinks is comfortable and happy for my height and body structure, then I can't wait for the day until I step on the scale and see it! (I'm not aiming for 126, I just thought it was an interesting calculation that was produced by the calculator on their website).

I hope that no matter what weight you're aimining for, we need to stop and reflect on where we've come from. 43.5 pounds lost? I'm pretty happy about that.

140ville here I come!!! (I have never been under 150 at an adult age!!!)

    Love this post! You seem so happy! Well congrats on losing that much weight! It said my happy weight was 130. Can't weight* (ha..ha) to get there!!!

    It said my Happy Weight is about 140, which is what I was aiming for anyways! So we will see if that is the right weight for me when I get closer to it. I was 199 or so at my highest weight too, and I never ever want to get back to that! I'm about halfway to my goal and I'm so excited to get to 140....I haven't weighed that since....idk...junior high or beginning of highschool maybe, and I was a little overweight then, too.

    I took the test and it said 158 pounds was my "Happy Weight". My goal is to hit 168 so I have a health BMI, I have been 158 pounds before, maybe I can do it again. I should set this as a long term goal! emoticon Thanks for the article.

    I took that test a while ago and it said my "happy weight" was 115. I'll tell you, I've set 115 as my MINIMUM weight! As in, the weight at which I start to worry I've taken things a little too far! I'd say you're the best judge of what your happy weight is, and you may not know what it is until you get there. As long as you're comfortable with maintaining it, that's what matters!
