While browsing the Self Magazine website reading various articles on nutrition and exercise, I came across a link that said "What's Your Happy Weight?".
126!!! One thing is for sure, I'd sure as hell be happy if I was 126! While I still have a while to go before I get to my Self claimed "Happy Weight" of 126, I have to pause and remember where I've come from. In January 2008, I certainly wasn't at my "Happy Weight" of 199.5 pounds. I was FAR from it. After some fluctuations in weight since 2008 but now being 156, I have to reflect for a moment to think about how much weight I've lost since day one: 43.5 pounds. (I am currently 156). While this is not my goal weight, nor my healthy BMI of 144 pounds, it's still a Happy Weight for me because it isn't nearly 200 pounds.
If 126 is the number Self Magazine thinks is comfortable and happy for my height and body structure, then I can't wait for the day until I step on the scale and see it! (I'm not aiming for 126, I just thought it was an interesting calculation that was produced by the calculator on their website).
I hope that no matter what weight you're aimining for, we need to stop and reflect on where we've come from. 43.5 pounds lost? I'm pretty happy about that.
