Measure, Weigh, Make Goals, Blog!!!

When is enough enough? We have to know when we have reached our goals. A friend put it very well to me, at your current weight, do you still feel fat? OUCH! As a matter of fact I do!! So how to you "change" your mind? With facts. The biggest? Loose clothes. For some reason I think NO WOMAN likes the scale, it can turn on you in an instant! I also like the BMI calculator. My favorite I am adding as a link here - because it gives you FACTS - statistics of where you are with the rest of the people in your age and gender. NOW, feel good about that, or plan to be in a different statistic. I've hit 21.8 BMI and I'm in the 9th percentile, which means 91% of females my age weigh more than I do (for their given height). What do I really want??? Not to be in the 1st percentile that's for sure. I just want to lose 7 more pounds so I have wiggle room, and I want to firm up the wiggle room!! I like those goals, so I've announced them. There you have it. I know that will probably take me MONTHS to achieve but I will continue to look at how far I've come, and my statistics, and that will have to console my never-ending female quest to overcome that feeling that whatever IS is not enough. THAT is ungrateful, and just plain wrong.

    I was just thinking the same thoughts. Your already there..I was wondering if I would recognize my goal when I get there.

It takes time to start feeling this is YOU! just adding more exercise, like taking your bike out (to show off your new bod!)...you'll lose the rest of your weight. You may actually have to start adding a bit more "healthy" food just to maintain and not lose more weight than you want. It's now a matter of Balance. What works for you and what works against you.

This is an exciting part of your newest journey. If I haven't said it enough...I'm so happy and proud of you. You Did IT! You're an inspiration to all of us who let ourselves go and we're heading in the wrong direction, and now your helping us go in the right one. Thank you for always being here for us. emoticon emoticon emoticon

According to this site, I am at 24.4 BMI and in the 20th percentile for my age.

The last time I had my body composition report at my Doctor's office,
these were my figures (before and after weight loss with Michael Thurman 6 Week Body Makeover):

BEFORE:
Aug 2007
Age 49
Actual Weight: 163
BMI 29.81
% Actual Fat: 42.6 lbs
Weight Actual Fat: 69.5 lbs

AFTER:
Nov 2010
Age 52
Actual Weight: 127
BMI 23.23
% Actual Fat: 15.9 lbs
Weight Actual Fat: 20.2 lbs

There was a lot of other jargon on the report, much of which is "Greek" to me. However, my total body water compartment is VERY GOOD--like a young woman! Yea! I said all of that because I KNOW YOU CARE!!! Yea, friend!

@Nutsfortennis - I have no issue with the nutrition provided by the 6wbmo plan. I get every food group, and I feel better than I have in years. The only restriction is on processed foods. Natural sugar, natural carbs all allowed. Protein, lots of healthy proteins and calcium after the 6 weeks - and during that time, calcium supplements and lots of broccoli!! Congrats on YOUR amazing success!!!

  You're doing great!!! Are you following Thurmond's 6 week body makeover diet?? I did that years ago & lost the weight but was unable to keep it off...That diet was sooo restrictive and unhealthy..This time I tried WW and have kept 30 pounds off for 8 months..I switched to SP because I don't like WW's new plan and I really wanted to see how many calories I'm eating daily and what type...Continued success to you!! emoticon

    Good insight my friend! It's an individual journey with different goals for each person...do what you feel is right for you. Even though it's an individual journey, we are all here to support each other along the way! I think you look fantastic!
