Day 6 without chips

Thursday, February 17, 2011

I just finished eating a really healthy lunch and it was very tasty. I ate a small piece of a pork chop, some string beans and a side salad. Things are looking good for the week, it's Thursday and my cravings for chips have gone away. Saturday is my cousin's baby shower and it will be at a pizza parlor. Now I'm in Chicago and we are going to Beggar's Pizza to have the deep dish. I am ordering a salad as soon as I get in the door so that I will not be eating huge amounts of pizza. I gave up pop 3 months ago so that will not be an issue. My plans will be carried out without any regret and just maybe I will start losing some weight. I worked out on my Wii this morning and I had a -.02 on the balance board scale again for the second day in a row. My official weigh in day is Sunday. I will have a good one since I am keeping up with a routine. And keeping on track.
Have a good one!

You're doing great. And I'm personally glad to see you will be having some pizza. Go onto Spark and find try to plan your food plan for Saturday...find out how you can stay close to your goals despite the deep dish. Lots of fresh fruits (orange and skim milk for breakfast, for example)...celery sticks with peanut butter and an apple for lunch). So that you are "free" to enjoy your time out with friends.

By the way, if you ever get to where you NEED NEED NEED chips, I get a small potato, cut in into thin thin thin slices, sprinkle 2 pinches of (low sodium) salt on one side only, and use a microwave potato-chip dish. I nuke those thin slices for about 5 minutes. Nutritional cost? Exactly the same as a small potato, and 2 pinches of salt! I've found I love these even though there's so little salt.

PLEASE don't make me feel guilty by fixing these while you're on your giving up chips plan. I'm only suggesting this if you are ready to break down and take those awful commercially packaged chips. Hang in there!!!
