6 week challenge. Who's in?

Today I've been discussing weight loss with some ladies on Facebook and Twitter. I realized that there's WAY too much emphasis on the scale, blast that damn thing to hell! Or do this! emoticon While the scale is a useful tool for weight loss, it is not the only tool we all should have in our arsenal. Two of my other favorite tools are how my clothing fits and my measurements. Another useful tool, that I'm honestly not 100% comfortable with, is pictures. It's been said that a picture tells a thousand words and I've found that to ring exceptionally true about weight loss & healthy living.

So I challenge those of you who are up for it: go for 6 weeks without weighing yourselves. Eat right, exercise, and every week take a few pictures and your measurements. I'm going to push myself out of my comfort zone & post my progression pictures at the end of March. I'm nervous, excited & curious to see exactly WHAT I can accomplish in those 6 weeks.

Tomorrow I will weigh myself for the last time until at the end of March. I'll have Adamm9 snap a few pics & help me with measurements every week. Who knows, maybe I'll re-sculpt my body yet again & get some super toned arms, legs or a less flabby midsection! Now THAT would be one hell of a birthday present. emoticon

    I'd love to, but I'm too interested in what the scale says! I also never do measurements and the idea of pics makes me emoticon ! It's a great idea, though. For those of us who are able to stick to it!

    I'm in! I did measurements a couple of weeks ago and I'm angry with the blasted scale anyway.....the separation will do us well.

    I think this is an fabulous idea. Dave already thinks I obsess over the scale, or more importantly the number on it. I have to go to the doctor on 3/14, and you know they always weigh there, but I vow to not step on my home scale for six weeks.

    You know I'm in for at least 3 weeks. The scale tends to do me in, if I have a loss, I cheat, if I have a gain, I cheat. And so on, and so forth. Still have not measured...and I highly doubt I will do pics. BUT, I'm in for the scale challenge, and that's pretty good for me! I'm *almost* as addicted to it as Adriane.

    I will gladly throw out the scale for the next 6 wks, no problem! =)I've been driving myself crazy, so hopefully this will help me pay attention to my body more than just what the number reads. emoticon

    Amber, you don't need to post your pics for everyone to see. It can be just for you.

Adriane, I had hoped you'd give up the evil scale for a few weeks, but am glad you're on board with 2/3 of this challenge. I can dig it!

TrigirlJ, measurements are a fabulous way to track progress. I'm one of those ladies who doesn't drop clothing sizes until I lose 15-20 lbs, so measurements are eye-opening for me, as well as pictures.
