Frustration/Set backs + DVD Review

Tuesday, February 15, 2011

I have officially not worked out in a week. Between feeling semi-crappy and this being the last week of classes before rotations (meaning tons of tests, quizzes, papers, and projects are due) I have not been able to fit my workouts in. That is my set back. My frustration comes from all the working out I had been doing prior to this week of set backs and NOT LOSING A SINGLE POUND!!! UGH!

SOOOOO FRUSTRATING! I know part of it has to do with my diet, but I'm trying. Problem is that I'm hungry all of the time. I'm trying to eat more fruit and vegetables (the other day I ate 5 servings, I was so proud of myself) but that doesn't seem to help. Well after I finish this week of hell I'm going to get back on track. Even though my rotation brings with it 40 hours a week of non-paid + 10 hours of paid standing on my poor Morton's neuroma foot...I will try to power through it!

Regarding my new fitness videos, I've only tried 2. The first was Crunch Bootcamp. I love this video. I hate the instructor's stretching technique, but I love the workout. It's 30 minutes of cardio + strength training and it's pretty intense (I'm sweating like a fool by the time it's done). The other was Crunch kickboxing party. It combined kickboxing with dance moves, which I am not coordinated enough to do. Maybe I'll give it another shot, but I wasn't a fan after one attempt.

I took this month easy on myself.. I had been pushing too hard and went back to the basics. Refocus when you get through your busy schedule - life is life, enjoy it!

Set backs happen, but you seem to have a GREAT frame of mind and aren't letting it stop you. Good for you!!!

Thanks for posting about the fitness videos. I'm always looking for new ones. Don't worry about the set backs, I've had my share of those lately as well. We can get through it!!
