Maintaining can be Fun!

Ah, the challenge of keeping "IT" off.

I needed to add some spice to the challenge. Winter weight was creeping up on me. Pants were a little tighter around the tummy and the left thigh. Arm bands on new polo shirts seemed a little tight too. But, what to do??

I was watching a recorded Dr. Oz last week and he had a guest, Timothy Ferris, author of The 4 Hour Body. He had some radical ideas on how to control weight like wearing an ice pack on your upper back and neck for 30 minutes every night. Wild idea, huh? But, I was so intrigued that I ordered his book.

His diet recommendations for weight loss sounded doable to me so I stocked up on the items on his recommended list. Meat, veggies and beans. They make up what he calls a "slow carb diet." In eight days I lost three inches and nothing is tight any more!! On the ninth day I "binged." He recommends one pig out day per week. I actually had to force myself. (Isn't that a riot? Forcing myself to eat calorie dense foods of my choice?!?!?!?)

Today, I'm back on the slow carb program and feel great.

This maintaining might not be such a pain after all...
