I really had no intention to blog here – I have a previously established blog (that I ♥) on another site, link on my page if you are so inclined – but I do want to be a part of the Spark Community!
So I feel like I should share a bit and engage.
So here I am!
I am Cyn
Soon to be 41 (in a mere eleven weeks)
Mom of three (two teenage sons and a 20 month old daughter)
Soul mate to the love of my life
Photographer by trade and choice; it is my true personal passion
And a former yo-yo dieter extraordinaire!
Yeah, you know the story. I have tried a bevy of diets through the majority (okay ALL of) my adult life. Recently Weight Watchers which I am super proud to say that I lost 38lbs on. Only I have been struggling with the program since September and felt like I needed to shake things up a bit.
I will ALWAYS use the tools taught to me by Weight Watchers – portion control, making exercise a part of my regimen, tracking my food, accountability, and the importance of a good support system!
But change is good!
I tracked my food yesterday here on Spark and WOW!
I love the breakdown of calories, fat, protein, and carbs – and the charts that tell me where I landed (or didn’t land) in the healthy range.
Who knew that even though I was within my calories that I ate too much of them in fatty foods and not enough in protein?
Maybe this is why I have lost and regain the same 5lbs a BAJILLION times since September?!?!
My next venture is to join a gym.
There is a brandy-new Planet Fitness about a mile and half from where I live that I am 99% sure I will join this week.
My only issue with it is that they do not offer classes. I would love a good spin, Zumba or yoga/pilates class and it miffs me that I would have to attend a whole separate facility to do that.
But for $19.99 a month and the accessibility of being SO close – I am willing to suffer!
Any Planet Fitness folks out there?
Or former Planet Fitness folks?
I would love an honest assessment of the gym other than the online hubbub I have found!
Well enough rambling…
If rambling burnt calories I would be Supermodel thin!
So glad to be here!
*** I should mention that I have used Spark before -- about a year or two ago -- after the birth of my daughter.
Honestly, I wasn't ready to commit to any change at that juncture in my life.
I decided to start anew here on Spark -- and I am SUPER psyched to be back!
