Another Doctors Appointment part 2

Thursday, February 10, 2011

So, the gyno thinks that my hormones are causing my crohns flares, and this it what I decided to do....
I will start taking my birth control pills again, but I will take them for 4 months without taking the "period pills", hopefully, this will straighten out my hormones...
Otherwise, I will have to have a hysterectomy.

.....Like I said before, I'm just tired of being sick.

I'll keep you in my thoughts - if it is endometriosis, it can cause all sorts of hormonal upheaval. Hopefully the b.c. pills will be able to get it under control.

Remember that endometriosis is estrogen fed - so try to stay away from food/drinks that will promote more estrogen in your system: watch the soy intake, high fat foods/fried foods, meat that has been treated with growth hormones, alcohol, processed foods, etc. Adding fiber (if you can handle it with Crohn's) will help process the estrogen out of your system too. Think cavegirl diet - paleo style of eating: lots of good organic lean meats & fish, veggies, some fruit, tree nuts and lots of water. I have had estrogen dominance issues (along with endometriosis and fibroids, eventually had to evict the baby-baking equipment), so I've read and researched and read some more on this.
