Day 38: HELP!!!!!!!! :(

Monday, February 07, 2011

So I somehow managed to catch the flu for the first time in my 23 years of living.... WHY NOW?!?!?! Ugh. I didn't have the throwing up and all that good stuff, but I was weak, couldn't move, fever, chills, and a HORRRRIBLE cough that I am still trying to get rid of! (I'm pretty sure I have bronchitis now :( ahhh)... I'm not trying to complain here, just venting a tad bit. Anyways.. so I am still trying to get to a point where I can do ACTUAL challenging excercise, without feeling like I am going to quit breathing. I tried Zumba Friday evening and I felt like I was literally going to die... I was so out of breath.. I just felt like a bum who decided to randomly show up at the gym that night. I know my body had gotten used to lighter exercise while I was down for the counth, but it is about darn time that this body of mine gives in a lets me get back to my routine.

I'm so irritated with life right now.. sick, my computer's hard drive died (lost EVERYTHING I had from the past 3 years, including all of the pictures I have of me and Justin), and I'm gaining weight back.. slowly but surely!

I need help!!!!!!! How do I get back into the swing of things... I now feel like it takes time out of my day to track my food... and the slightest excuse I have for not going to the gym, I use it. This isn't me!!!! I don't know what to do!

TAKE IT SLOW...walk for an hour. If you strength train use light weights. Anything is better than nothing at all and your body has to heal...

Maybe you're not 100% physically. I find starting over very hard. Unfortunately our bodies DO lose physical progress very quickly, so you probably CAN'T jump back in quite at the level at which you were a week ago, besides the fact that your body is still recuperating!

Small steps, if the big ones seem too hard. Track food - if you don't feel like counting calories, just write it down. Pick one or two small goals - get to the gym and work out, even if it's low intensity. Or drink lots of water.

You can do it, Cory. My attitude has fallen down the tubes too and I"m only battling a cold. Let's help each other back up!

Go to your Start Page and start over with Stage One.

Been there, will do it again as often as needed.

You can do it!

Really sorry about your hard drive. Did you try taking it to an expert? Sometimes they can retrieve everything from a dead hd.

Getting back on track is probably much more difficult than just starting the plan.
You can't beat yourself up especially this time because you are ill..........take care of your cough etc. before you expect your body to cooperate with you and your exercise routine. If you can do other things like walking or riding a bike you would still be getting some exercise and in the end your body will thank you for it. First and foremost you need to get well............take care and continue to vent here when ever you feel the need. We are here for you. emoticon

The flu for the 1st time, you've been lucky, but bronchitis only gets worse in my experience. Go get something from a doctor to clear it out. You won't be able to exercise properly with your lungs full of "stuff" Go slow, it'll pass, you'll feel better and get re-energized. Don't over do until you are fully recovered. I hope you feel better soon. emoticon

first of all, don't beat yourself up. you should be proud you went to zumba! good job! and if one day you don't workout or you eat something unhealthy, let it go, move on and do better tomorrow.
