This week was pretty active, so to speak. Started my new-again regime of Biggest Loser workouts and averaged about 600 calories burned per day, according to my HR monitor. I do plan on getting a new one soon though, cause I noticed from time to time it read "00" while I was working out, so it's slightly inconsistent. In any case, I managed to get through it, and thus far I feel GREAT! Had a bit of a meltdown early in the week though, cause I was missing food... I live in Louisiana folks, it's a bit difficult to keep away from red beans and rice and such... In any case, that meltdown led to me and the boyfriend figuring out that there are ways I can still eat what I want but in a very different way. That said, I found ripoffs of Taco Bell and Applebee's items, to name a few, and we wound up having chicken quesadillas and pizzadillas. I did make room one of these days to allow for some Domino's Pizza (I did today as well- we were in cleaning mode, it was easier than stopping what we were doing to cook), and still managed to keep within my limits. The best part? I LOST A POUND! Even with the pizza! My ticker's moving! Yayness! It's only a pound, but dangit I worked HARD for that pound, and I plan to keep it up!

I'm making sure to eat within my range, although I find that oftentimes I just don't eat enough, which is a bit odd. I suppose all the working out is making me subconsciously eat less than I should be for what I'm doing, who knows... In any case, I'm set for the next day or 2, cause I made chicken pot pie tonight for dinner (the Hungry Girl recipe from sparkrecipes) and I have enough leftovers for lunch till wednesday maybe. I also made the honey garlic pork chops last night, with brown rice, and wow was that good. I had been craving Chinese food all day and was about to cave till I remembered we're on a tight budget and I have the stuff to make the chops anyway. It hadn't occurred to me that I essentially was making a Chinese-inspired dish, but when I took that first bite I was hooked. Now I just need to test out the recipe with chicken, and I'll be set.

So because I've been working out like a madwoman, I burned 3700 calories even this week with exercise alone, which is way more than I was originally supposed to. As a result, my caloric intake goals went up a fair amount. At first I was relieved cause that meant I had a bit more room in case something came up and I caved into the foodie temptation, but now I'm having even more difficulty eating enough. I guess over time I'll get used to it and figure out a better way to eat throughout the day so that stuff like that doesn't happen. We shall see though.

This week I've been perusing through people's blogs and found that several members had posted their vision boards, and others posted a video collage of their weight loss journey. I'm finding those entries to be rather inspiring, and finally managed to complete my vision board last night. It's not much, and it doesn't have a central theme really. My board was inspired mostly by The Secret and the Law of Attraction. There are several things I'd like to accomplish in my life other than losing weight, and my board reflects that. Here's a pic... If I can get my card reader to work... C'mon, not that hard... Here it is-

The picture in the middle is what I looked like when I was skinny, I have my dream kitchen in there, a picture of Italy and of Ireland (cause I intend to go one day to both), the wedding dress that I love and just so happens to be inspired by Cinderella (my favorite Disney character) indicating that I'm going to have my Cinderella moment one day be it at my wedding or just on any normal day, images that reflect the strength and flexibility and grace that I so desire, and several sayings that just keep me going. Underneath my board I posted another copy of my goals and rewards to keep me focused, and weekly I will be adding to my board my weigh-ins and indicating a loss with a star sticker. That way I can keep looking at the list and remember what I'm striving for. Like I said, it's not much in comparison to other boards, but it's my board and I'm happy with it. When I finish what I've started I'll also be doing a video collage, cause it'll be nice to see how far I've come when it gets to that point. I already took my first picture, right before I began my madwoman workouts, so I'll be sure to take new ones as I hit goals. I even have a song in mind heehee!

All in all, I've lost a few inches already, and I'm down a pound after 2 weeks of consistent exercise. I definitely upped my workouts this past week and will continue to do so, cause I always feel like a superhero when I'm done. This is totally gonna work, I can feel it... emoticon

    You go girl!! Keep up the great work! And I'm totally going to check out that honey garlic pork chops recipe - yum!!

Try eating more small meals throughout the day to try to keep your calorie intake up. That's something I'm having trouble with as well, when I'm exercising like a mad-woman. But I don't want to exercise LESS, so it just means we've got to eat MORE! I like to use it as a chance to sneak in an extra serving or two of dairy, since that can be sort of high cal (especially when it comes to my favorite - cheese!)
