Something I read that has helped with my discouragement about not losing weight pertained to the idea that if I am doing this to lose weight... than in the long term I won't stay with it anyway. I need to see this as a lifetime change. So I don't lose weight....so what? I have felt better this past month than I have in a very long time. Regularly exercising about 4 days a week for the last 3 or 4 weeks, eating healthy nourishing food (most of the time), cutting way way back on fast food, etc. has made a huge difference in my energy levels, and my ability to get things done in my daily life.
Losing weight should merely be a by-product of living a healthy lifestyle. I need to remember that what the scale says should not affect whether or not I do this for my health and well-being.
So far, I am really liking the book. It's not that the ideas are brand new to me (I remember Anthony Robbins or Bill Philips Body for Life back in the day) but it didn't stick back then for whatever reason. I still wanted quick fixes for my problems. I didn't yet have many of the health-related issues that are starting to creep up now. I just wasn't ready to change my lifestyle. I don't think I believed I was worthy of having what I have now.
Today, I am 41. It's never too late to change our ways and our thinking thank goodness.
