Sore Legs and Running

I've been having some issues with my left knee lately and since Monday's run my calves and shins have been very tight. The tight muscles are not as much of a concern to me as the knee. Usually with in the first 20 minutes on the treadmill the muscles are warmer, limber and feeling OK but the knee pain doesn't ever completely go away. I don't want to stop running because I really love it but I'm getting a bit concerned because even when I'm walking I can feel it. Anyway, I don't run again until Saturday so I'm hoping that this is just my body adjusting to the changes in intervals that we are doing.
I'm giving myself one more run and if the pain doesn't subside I will get it checked out before I end up doing any permanent damage.

    Oh yes, careful with that knee! I am so impressed with anyone who runs on a regular basis- I've never enjoyed running, myself (too many jiggly bits). But I know it's great exercise.

It's definitely more important to take care of YOU so you can continue to make those goals!! So don't push it, ice down the knee, and listen to your body if it's telling you it's in pain.

We can do it!!

    Definitely get it checked out, better safe than sorry. Good job on doing your run. ICE works best after your workouts for the knee. emoticon
