Food(s) for Thought

(The point is ..... do NOT go to the supermarket when you're tired, upset, hungry, angry or anything other than on track and motivated!) .... Please read and enjoy. This was written on reflection of one of those 'been-there-done-that-got-the-
Tomatoes and onions and carrots and yams,
Oysters and artichokes, mussels and clams,
Salmon and spinach and lemons and lime,
Rosemary, pumpkin seeds, sprigs of fresh thyme,
Mature half-fat cheddar, rye crackers and, best-of-all,
Plenty of butters that lower cholesterol,
Low-fat Greek yoghurt and buffalo steaks,
Organic bananas and sugar-free cakes,
How lovely to shop and find all that is healthy,
Thereís everything here Ė and not just for the wealthy,
Iím planning my meals for the week Ė lots of fish;
Did I mention? Iíve got a new man Ė what a dish!
Fish fingers and chips, all fried deeply in oil,
Potatoes and peas Ė turned to mush as they boil,
Camembert (deep-fried) and Ė have I said chips?
And crisps and roast peanuts and crackers and dips,
And chocolate and chocolate and chocolate and sweets,
And puddings and cream cakes and all sorts of treats,
And packets of soups and tinned this and tinned that,
Well, who the hell cares if Iím going to get fat?
He left me, the weasel, went off with some tart,
So why should I bother with food for my heart?
Itís already broken. Iím not in the mood
To think about healthy, low-calorie food!
The moral, if there is one is, ladies, youíve guessed!
Please donít do the shopping when feeling depressed.
Itís bad for the heart and not good for the figure
And worse Ė ALL your problems will only get BIGGER!
