Greetings, dear Spark Friends!
The Holidays are over -- ours were wonderful, and I hope yours were all you wished for!
You may remember me speaking of my friend, Connie, this past summer. It was Connie who I rushed to the ER exhibiting signs of stroke, only to find that she was in Stage 4 cancer which had metastasized to her brain.
She lost her brave battle on December 22nd. While I mourn the loss, I am honored to have had such a long and strong friendship, and comforted by knowing that her suffering is over.
It reminds me that while life may not always be fair, it is precious and we must take care of ourselves and live life to fullest.
On that happy note ... life also goes on.
I have been in maintenance mode since Thanksgiving, and am holding my own. I am gearing up to drop the next 17 pounds which will take me into a "healthy" BMI range.
As I have mentioned before, Winter is a tough time for me. I do not exercise. I eat comfort foods. I want coffee, not water. I move into a weight-loss mindset in the Spring.
So in gearing up, I am looking at habits that have fallen to the wayside and the small changes that need to start happening again to get back on track.
And I have a plan!
1. Increase water intake 1 20-oz bottle a week until I am back up to 4 a day.
2. Eat breakfast every day.
3. Add fresh fruits and vegetable snacks back into my meal plan.
4. Track my food intake daily.
5. Catch up with each of you - you are all such an inspiration!
I would be remiss not to do a little bragging ... Miss Lilly is growing like a weed, and is such a happy baby! She continues to be the light of my life, and I am enjoying having a grandbaby to spoil!
Here's to a Healthy & Happy 2011!
