Making a short term goal a way of life!

Wednesday, February 02, 2011

I have a goal of losing about 10 pounds by the end of March. My husband and I are going on a 14 day Hawaiian cruise! I started Spark about a week ago. I have always been pretty good about getting regular exercise which usually means walking 2-3 miles 3 days a week. I have never counted calories, however, I realize that I need to.

I joined a wellness center today. I am excited but also a little scared! The man that taught me about the machines made me a bit nervous. I told me that I needed to do "cardio" which including getting my heart rate to around 130 bpm. When I got on the treadmill my heartrate won't get that high unless I put the thing on incline....so much for walking an hour at the mall! He took me around and taught me about the upper body, lower body, and core machines. I have a feeling I am going to be sore tomorrow....

Here I go!

Thanks so much! Agentner you may have a point...maybe I should walk like I usually do and monitor my heartrate, maybe it is getting higher than I think!

keep reminding yourself about Hawaii!!! That will be such a good motivator! IT WILL ALL PAY OFF IN THE END!

Remember with your heart rate that it will increase the longer you do the activity. So it may start low at first but after walking for an HOUR it will be a lot higher than when you started!

GOOD LUCK! I BELIEVE IN YOU!
